Introduction to Drama Therapy

As a licensed Marital and Family Therapist who practices Drama Therapy, Sarah is excited to provide a deeper understanding of this psychotherapeutic modality. A less familiar form of psychotherapy here in Tennessee, Sarah will provide a comprehensive introduction to the field, including its origins and influences, prominent theories, and practical clinical examples. The evening will combine the didactic with the experiential for an engaging experience, and will of course include time for questions, exploration, and discussion.

This workshop is open to clinical practitioners as well as non-clinical folks who are simply interested in learning more about the modality. Drama Therapy shares principles with psychological approaches including Gestalt, Narrative, and Somatic therapies, to name a few, and may hold relevance to clinical practitioners of all kinds. It may also be interesting to those passionate about the arts, education, the mind-body connection, facilitation, self-expression and self-esteem, performance, etc.
